Each of our venues at Werribee Open Range Zoo offers its own character. Set among sweeping plains and native gardens, these event spaces are designed to feel connected to the surrounding environment, while offering the flexibility to suit events of all types and sizes.
Chongola Hut offers a rustic, open-air setting with relaxed charm and a distinctly African flavour. Ideal for casual gatherings, this undercover venue features picnic-style seating and is perfect for sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres or a laid-back barbecue with friends and family.

With a close-up view of the Zoo’s hippopotamus habitat, Hippo Beach delivers a striking setting for larger-scale celebrations. It’s well-suited to cocktail and canapé events, with standing capacity for up to 175 guests and an atmosphere that’s as lively as it is memorable.

Set among manicured lawns and authentic African-style huts, the African Kia is a flexible outdoor venue suited to both intimate and large-scale events. Hire one of the four huts for a smaller gathering of up to 20 guests, or book the full space for up to 1,500 standing. The lawn is ideal for team games or family activities, and entertainment options for all ages can be arranged.
